Area of Study: Electrical Engineering
Academic Level: Graduate
Interest/Hobbies/Sports: Playing guitar and swimming
Favorite Music: Rap, Rock and Classic
When I say that I am Egyptian, this is not the whole fact because I am actually coming from two great countries. Cairo is not the place where I was born. I am originally Iraqi from Baghdad. Iraq is my birth place. So I am combining between these two countries where human civilizations started in; the Sumerian and the Egyptian civilizations.
I am pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in the field of RF and Antenna Design. Playing guitar is the activity that I mostly enjoyed for the last few years. Playing guitar takes me from the daily routine and life problems to another life where soft music can be played. It increases my desire to hear music. Classical and also modern music become my favorites.
French and German are the other two languages that I speak. I took many classes for more than three years and reached a high level in both languages. I believe that learning other languages is so important because that may open the mind to different cultures. Practicing with these languages gives me the power to be more confident.

After completing my bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) I worked for two years as a full time lecturer at the Hashemite University (HU). The Universities name is related to the king's family name (King Abdullah II Al-Hashmi).
I came to the University of Mississippi in January 2006 to persue my Ph.D study in Electrical Engineering. I liked the type of living that existed at the university, which has an amazing campus. The Americans at the University are so kind, polite and helpful. I really feel lucky to be at Ole Miss.
