This year, the Mississippi Association of International Educators (MAIE) held its annual state conference on February 24 and 25 at the Cabot Lodge Millsaps in Jackson.
The two day conference began with a luncheon and keynote address on Thursday, February 24. This year's keynote address was given by Dr. Wayne Stonecypher, Executive Director, Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges. His presentation addressed the role of international education in higher education at a time when many of us who work in the field are facing a number of unprecedented challenges.
In addition to the keynote address, there were a variety of presentations on immigration, regulatory, and programming issues, including:
--Dealing with the Undocumented: Immigration Law and Institutional Policy, David Ware, David Ware and Associates
--Immigration and SEVIS Updates, Ana Sippin, NAFSA Region VII CIPP-RR, Florida International University
--Fraudulent Credentials from International Applications, Margaret Donaldson, Global Credential Evaluators
